2024 Ford Escape Engine Specs

Choose between four different powertrain options for the 2024 Ford Escape. The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® inline three-cylinder (I3) engine blends fuel efficiency and power, with a 34 MPG rating on the highway and a 2,000-pound maximum towing capacity. Step it up with the 2.0L EcoBoost inline four-cylinder (I4) engine with 250 horsepower and a 3,500-pound maximum towing capacity, when properly equipped. Both come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

For advanced fuel efficiency, consider the available hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain for the Escape. Most Escape trims offer the hybrid as an option, while the plug-in hybrid has its own exclusive trim level. Get up to 42 MPG around town with the Escape hybrid, or 101 combined MPGe with the Escape Plug-In Hybrid model. Both are paired with an electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and can tow up to 1,500 pounds.

Enjoy year-round driving confidence in the Escape. The 1.5L EcoBoost and hybrid engines are both standard with front-wheel drive (FWD) and available with intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD). The 2.0L EcoBoost engine features standard AWD and the plug-in hybrid features standard FWD.
